One of the biggest high schools in Malmö

Sankt Petri skola, or simply Petri, is a municipal high school on Fersens väg in the district Hästhagen in central Malmö. Inaugurated in 1908 and designed by the all so familiar John Smedberg, the building bears the features of a German baroque castle.
The school, built between 1904 and 1908, is one of Malmö's oldest and largest upper secondary schools. The students at the school are popularly called petrioter.
The school was founded in 1902 as Malmö general lower secondary school. In 1905 it was transformed into a secondary school with the name Malmö Realskola and from 1915 Realskolan in Malmö. The school belonged to a municipal high school since 1952.
In connection with the commencement of nationalization of the upper secondary school in 1958, the school was then given the name Sankt Petri higher general educational institution. The school was communalized in 1966 and then changed its name to Sankt Petri school.
